August 2015 Astro Update: Carl Boudreau...

A Progressive Tipping Point

Recap

Changes too numerous to track continue percolating through our lives.

That includes a neverending series of personal challenges, many of them personally transformative if not life altering.

Increasingly, though, even the most difficult aspects are softened by a bracelet of semi-sextiles, sextiles and trines extending from Leo to Aries. ...

More and more of us are sensing a way forward. Despite the continuing challenges, many of us are landing on our feet.

July’s New Moon brought a very rare, powerful and intensely spiritual influence, restoring our moral compass. Collective consciousness is now much more responsive to moral issues.

Conscience will now play a greater role in choices on the micro and macro levels.

Entering the Mutable Zone

The cardinal energies generated by Pluto and Uranus dominated world events for many years, but they are now largely background influences. The fixed energy generated by Saturn in Scorpio and Jupiter in Leo will phase out completely by mid-September.

The energy coming from Pisces is arguably the single most powerful influence in the Zodiac right now. Pisces is the most mutable of the signs and Neptune’s is the most mutable of planetary influences. Neptune’s mutable energies are augmented by Nessus and Chiron in Pisces.

In coming weeks, Jupiter and Saturn will both move into mutable signs, further increasing the prevalence of mutable energy.

Jupiter will enter the mutable sign of Virgo on August 11, UT for the full transit.

Saturn will re-enter the mutable sign of Sagittarius in mid-September for the full transit.

Saturn will join Pallas, Ixion, Pholus and Quaoar already in Sagittarius.

These Jupiter and Saturn ingresses will complete a mutable T-Square. Jupiter in Virgo opposite Neptune, Nessus and Chiron in Pisces will form the base of the new T-Square. Saturn in Sagittarius will form its apex.

Retrograde Reinforcements

These potent mutable placements will be heavily compounded by a great deal of retrograde activity, much of it in mutable signs.

As of August 29, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron, Ceres, Vesta, Uranus, Eris, Venus, Pholus, Chariklo, Nessus, Ixion and Quaoar are all retrograde. Of those, Neptune, Chiron, Nessus, Ceres, Pholus, Chariklo, Ixion and Quaoar are retrograde in mutable signs.

Retrograde energy is similar to mutable energy in many important ways. It brings subtleties and previously unknown options to the fore. It makes issues more subjective. It loosens, dissolves and otherwise undoes things that seemed set in stone.

This rich mix of mutable and retrograde energy lends reality a clay-like, sometimes powdery quality. The world becomes an infinite number of small pieces endlessly combining and recombining in new shapes.

But perhaps most important of all, a new moral sensibility and a spirit of progressive reform will be moving through the world. Those who depend on the status quo to block progress will find themselves exposed and defenseless against the forces of reform.

The Truth Will Out

The Jupiter/Neptune opposition, by itself, is a fertile source of deception, distortion and illusion, especially true with Nessus and Chiron complicating the picture.

Regardless, Saturn’s square to both Jupiter and Neptune and its friends in Pisces will make it much less likely that lies can prevail. Saturn will also be conjoining the large cluster of asteroids in Sagittarius. This will bring discipline, rigor and integrity to governmental and bureaucratic deliberations.

A Mutable Environment Favors Progressive Change

In the mass mind, cardinal energy pixelates reality, obscuring detail. In collective consciousness, cardinal energy makes for lo def images, harsh contrasts, rough outlines and ball park figures.

These things make it easy to manipulate public opinion and governmental processes. Fixed energies only compound the distorting effects of cardinal energies in the mass mind by supporting the illusion of stability and permanence and concealing the urgent need for change and reform.

Mutable and retrograde energies, by comparison, create complex, fine grained, lifelike images - hi def images of reality with subtle, realistic colors and textures. Such visions support subtle, nuanced arguments for realistic change based on detailed and accurate analysis. This is especially true when, as now, stern and sober Saturn is in the mix.

Add Patience, Mix Slowly and With Care

Mutable energy is the very definition of subtle. The complex, nuanced pictures of reality it creates help develop more effective and compelling arguments for change. They also help devise more thorough, realistic and fair solutions.

The combination of mutable and retrograde energies will bring more gradual, evenly paced change. Those addicted to sudden, dramatic change need to adjust their expectations to understand this new, more mutable world dynamic.

Incidentally, mutable energy is essentially more receptive and amenable to the expression of the feminine principle.

Personal, Societal and Global Healing

Jupiter enters Virgo on August 11 UT.

It will form an oppositional relationship with Nessus, Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. It will square the large group of asteroids/planetoids retrograding in mutable Sagittarius.

It will also form a trine relationship with Pluto in Capricorn. Jupiter in Virgo is also opposing Neptune, Nessus and Chiron in Pisces.

Until it enters Virgo, Jupiter will be driven by the trio in Pisces.

During this second half of the Jupiter/Pluto cycle, however, when Jupiter is approaching Pluto, the power of Pluto is harnessed by Jupiter.

Jupiter in Virgo’s nurturing, healing energies will now determine how Pluto’s power expresses.

We can use increased personal resources to overcome dark and long suppressed memories and emotions and finally move on.

People can also channel realizations that arise from these painful releases into larger economic and political reforms.

Jupiter is also squaring the large cluster of asteroids in Sagittarius, all but one of which are currently retrograde.

This will help channel realizations arising from painful emotional releases into local, national and global reform efforts.

Eclispses Will Seal the Progressive Deal

There is a Solar Eclipse at the New Moon in mutable Virgo on September 13 UT.

There is a Lunar Eclipse in Aries at the Full Moon on September 28 UT.

There are two eclipses coming in September. Hence, we are not simply entering a period highly favorable to progressive transformation.

We are rapidly approaching a point of no return. After an eclipse, the likelihood of turning back the clock shrinks to near zero.
